What is Ital ?

Ital is a term, derived from "vital",
which means a natural and healthy way of life.
One way to practice ital living is by
making conscious decisions as to
what we put in our bodies.
Being that we view the body as a temple,
we treat that temple with great care.
Ital is generally a vegan diet and in all cases,
ital prohibits flesh/meat, preservatives, & chemical ingredients. Ingredients have to be
of most natural & pure quality.
Any meal can be "Italized" if prepared only with
vegetables, natural ingredients, and love.

 

  

was inspired by the vision of serving Spirit , through sharing with the people good nutrition for the whole body & mind. With our certified 33' ft. mobile kitchen, we have created the I Roots Cafe , a mobile caravan dedicated to raising the health & awareness of the self.

will function as a traveling juice & smoothie bar also offering: wheat grass, sprouts, raw foods, vegan & vegetarian meals, multi cultural meals, medicinal herb tea and more. Bringing the good foods to the festival/faire circuits as well as family gatherings & musical events & tours. Also available for private occasions.

     offers much more than just food & drink. We envision the space created by the I Roots Cafe to be a central gathering area for shared healing, education & creative expression. A place where people can come together for healing vibrations on many levels. Whether it be for food, free documentary viewing, cooking classes, daily meditations & healing circles, informative lectures/demonstrations, or just good company.............There is a saying that the kitchen is the center of the home, the village!

When we nourish our temples with healing, live foods, our overall health and vitality increases, therefore benefiting all actions! We strongly believe that health & state of MIND is as important as the health of the physical temple. Therefore, we extended our kitchen as one that incorporates the healing of all aspects of self.

It is our goal to obtain a yurt which can hold approximately 100 people. The yurt will provide shelter for sleeping, eating, workshops, etc.... While traveling, the I Roots Cafe & village family will use the yurt as a center of gathering and shelter. A military style kitchen tent is needed for outdoor serving/cooking, and gatherings, such as when I Roots Cafe joins with the One Love Kitchen serving free food at family gatherings.

The kitchen staff will consist of a core crew of about 5-8 people, with other included staff size varying upon venue- event. Currently, there are 4 core positions filled. Volunteers will always be welcomed and needed! There is always much to do & experiences to share!

The staff can also choose to support themselves on the side by selling various crafts out of the I Roots Emporium (of which a portion of the proceeds from all sold items will help support I Roots Cafe & One Love Kitchen's magic hat (for free kitchen at gatherings) as well a the One Love Vibrations Foundation)

We envision a cooperative support system that will enable us to be filming our experiences and workshops as we travel across this country. We currently have the following tools and skills to enable us to do so: a digital camcorder, a small film crew, video editing equipment, a mobile recording studio & a digital audio engineer. By producing a documentary on the I Roots Cafe & Village & One Love Caravan it is our hope to inspire others of our vision of this semi nomadic health support crew, while funding future projects. Our inspiration is to join forces with like minded events & tours to provide nourishing food for the staff involved in these projects, as well as promoting peace projects & actions. Unity.

All of our sponsors will be credited in the documentary which we plan to distribute to public access stations nationwide with the help of our local public access station LTV (Local Television), and underground film productions.

One of our educational focuses will be alternative energy. Including the benefits of solar power and heat, geo-thermal energy and the subject of alternative fuel sources. We have been exploring the wonderful world of "Bio-Diesel".(A low cost diesel alternative made from industrial and culinary waste oil.) Bio-Diesel can be used to fuel any diesel engine from cars to boats to generators, at an estimated cost of $0.65 per gallon (when self-produced).

  will be transported and powered by a bio diesel pick up truck and also by the help of a bio diesel generator. Our vision is to run at least seventy five percent of the cafe's needs on solar power and to be prepared with a bio diesel generator as back up. We have been researching low power consumption items like, refrigeration units and freezers, water heaters, ovens and more common items like lights.

We would like for the I Roots Cafe to be seen as an example of an ecologically low impact business ,and showcase for innovations and ideas that make our world a safer, cleaner, healthier, happier place to live. Learning & Teaching through Example.
